high rolling

the hazy mountains,
stirred up windy lookouts,
racing clouds on skies,
fog filling every crack and crevice,
constantly captivated,
between you and a terrain painted in brisk brush strokes,
broken up birds calls,
and a path of old stones

a pathway home,
a half eaten road,
stray rocks complimenting stray dogs,
busy barkers,
and this thick thunder landscape,
the flash dance lightning,
i will actively attempt to remember every mile of this stretch,
every inch of the way the sunset touched your silhouetted face,
and the immeasurable moments that made me never want to leave
